Situated in the Aude region of the Lanquedoc–Roussillon our cottages are part of the tiny hamlet of Pujol; in an idyllic forest setting nestled in the foothills of the 'Montagne Noire' National Park they enjoy distant views of the Pyrenees.

Yet they are only just over an hour from the Beaches of the Mediterranean.

Our cottages are 25km from Mazemet to the north and both Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi to the south, whilst Toulouse and Narbonne are both around an hour away.

Le Pujol is 3.5km from the local village of Cuxac Cabardes, it can be found on the Route National - D118, the main route through the Montagne Noire, making the cottages very accessible.

Cuxac, a typical French village, benefits from a butcher, a bakers, a chemist and a couple of bars. 'Le Maison de The,' has been recently opened by a very friendly Irish couple and we can highly recommend it for both its food and hospitality. There is also an indoor swimming pool, pleasant riverside walks and horse riding availiable locally.

Our cottages share their location with a ruined Chateau lending the estate an aura of fallen French grandeur and our neighbours, Henri and Birgit, a Swiss/German couple, run a small Chambre and Table d'hote (bed and breakfast).

Henri, for our English guests, is Tom Good of the 'Good Life' personified! His small holding grows organic vegetables and he keeps ducks, geese, chickens, rabbits goats and sheep and so is pretty much self sustained.

Henri can offer you an excellent table d'hote evening meal made from his produce and both Henri and Birgit, who are multilingual, are very good company. Reservations are necessary.
